What type of mpeg are you trying to make, VCD, SVCD, DVD or is the mpeg non-standard?

  4. Several things come to mind here:

1st, for DVD, the audio needs to be resampled to 48khz., you can use TmpGenc with ssrc to do this.

2nd, joining VBR encoded mpeg files in TmpGenc can cause loss of audio sync, especially after the join point. Are you sure the joined mpeg is in sync?

You author in IfoEdit. Can you play the .VOB files from the HDD using something like PowerDVD. If so are they smooth and in sync?

    ok

1st - i didnt touch the audio so ill do that now

2nd - the mpg is fine and stays ok all the way through the mpg

and powerdvd plays the dvd fine from the .vobs in the folder
