  1. I'm trying to convert a movie file in Xvid format into Mpeg-2 so it can be burnt to DVD. When I play the native XVid file it plays fine (in media player, powerDVD, anything!), but I cannot convert this.
I tried following the TMPEGEnc guide, but that gives me sound but no picture. So, I tried to run it through DVDMovieFactory and after a long wait that did exactly the same! :S
Has anyone got any ideas why I can play the movie before conversion, but cannot afterwards?

    Thanks

  2. I'm doing one now, and had the same problem first. I went to Options > Environmental Settings > VFAPI-Plugin > Change DirectShow Multimedia File Reader to 1

After that my output was ok!

  3. What RzSweede says may well work, but if not another option that often fixes Xvid conversion problems is frameserving from virtualdub. Take a look in the CONVERT section of the HOW TO's on the left of the page for a guide.
