  1. OK heres the story. 1, i DVD DECRYPTOR MY ORIGINAL (ALL IS WELL, I THINK)
2, I DVD2ONE THE ABOVE (ALL IS WELL I THINK)
3, I RECORDNOWMAX THE ABOVE (ALL IS STILL WELL I THINK)
I THEN WATCH MY BACK UP ON MY (AND OTHER PEOPLES) DVD PLAYER DOWNSTAIRS AND THE FILM IS MINT QUALITY, THAT IS UNTIL I GET ABOUT AN HOUR - AN HOUR AND A HALF INTO IT,(THE LAST FEW CHAPTERS REALLY) AND IT STARTS GOING BLOCKY AND THE AUDIO SYNC GOES ADRIFT. I AM USING AN PIONEER 105 DVD WRITER WITH BE-ALL MEDIA (BUT HAVE USED OTHER MEDIA) PLEASE HELP, ITS DOING MY HEAD IN.

  2. It's either the player or the media, or the combination of the 2. Try using your DVD-Rs on other players and then try burning on different media. Good Luck!

  3. This sounds like a definite media issue. Fork out an extra dollar or two for your media (Apple or TDK at Target or CompUSA or Fry's) and do the following.

This happened to me before using the crappy True 2X from allmediaoutlet.com.

Rerip the original DVD, then run it through DVD2ONE again, and finally burn it again and you will see your issues will go away completely.

    Hope this helps.

I used to have same problem, it turned out that it was not media nor player but how I burned it, the best way you can burn dvds is to get nero and burn it not as dvd video but as dvd rom - udf, just make 2 directories AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS into which you put all files and burn those 2 directories using version 1.02 UDF, I am almost sure it would work, I wasted at least 50 dvds like this until I realized where was the mistake

  5. matlins,

I use the exact same hardware, software/media as you. The problem could be that DVD2ONE has a setting for size that defaults too high. Try setting it to 4350MB (not real sure on the exact setting at this time). I believe it was a common issue with this software that it starts to act strangely toward the ending of the disk because of over-allocation of disk space.

  6. Matlins, sorry again. 4350mb should be the setting. Also, this thread explains the issue better.

  7. I still think it's media. I bet if you take the original files you have and fork out a pack of Apple DVD-R (Made by Maxell) and burn that onto an Apple DVD-R to test out.

If your DVD fits onto a DVD-R there should be no reason why it would not play unless the cheap media has real bad quality around the edges which is very common as if you search in the DVD Media section, you'll see that if you buy cheaper media, it is better to try and aim for a final size of less than 4 GB.

Also, if your DVD plays the first hour and a half, there is no reason why you should go and get NERO and burn your DVD files differently.

go buy a new dvd player or try it out on new dvd players at the store to see if it plays through

a guy on pinnacle website forum (digibear)

said it has something to do with laser intensity

u can actually go in a dvd player and change the intensity to fix that problem

but i wouldn't advise it (you could probaly mess up your dvd player)

i have 2 dvd players that get blocky and distorted after about a hour and a half into the movie (including my $2200.00 pioneer dv-09) and i don't use cheap media

and i use ic7 and nero and sometime gear pro to burn my dvds

but my playstation 2 has never done it (movies play straight through)

but instead of me opening my pioneer and messing in it

i just brought a 5 disc toshiba sd-2805 ($189 new but i brought it from a pawn shop for $100.00)and it plays them just fine
