I need to know how to verify that DMA is turned on in Windows 2000 for my cd-rom and cd-writer. Any ideas?

Control Panel - Systems - Device Manager - Double click on CD Rom - Settings . You have to restart Computer for changes to take effect. After you restart check DMA IS STILL CHECKED some computers wont accept these changes.
Hope this helps.

This is what it was like in W95/98, but not in Windows 2000 (at least not on my machine). In the Device Manager, instead of double-clicking or CD-Rom, look under both IDE-controllers and make sure that DMA is turned on there.
It took me a while to figure this out myself.
