  1. I want to get one of the new Samsung DVD Players with DVI Output but before I put the $300 into it I am reading up a lot about Divx compression as well as Windows Media 9 and how you can fit HDTV onto a regular DVD with both of them. My question, before I put the money into the Samsung is it possible that they will be coming out with a player that will play Divx HD or Windows Media 9 HD dvd's (I assume you can only play the WM9 on a computer now) on a regular DVD Player and that a variety of prerecorder content could become available?

That depends on when you put the money into the Samsung. If you put it in this week, then no, it's not very likely.

On the other hand, if you buy it in three years, I'd say you've got a 50/50 shot.
