  1. I'm evaluating DVDFab 1.52. So I gave it the mother of DVD's "The Matrix" , to do a disc copy. The problem is that it keeps crashing after it has done the split. Is this happening to anyone else? Has anyone been able to do a disc copy of "The Matrix"?

I also tried a disc copy with "X-Men" but the second disc has a "can't find navigational pointers" error. Anyone else had any problems with DVDFab and "X-Men"?

I know the author states that DVDFab cannot copy some DVDs. So far I have a 2 for 2.

BTW, I have followed all the instructions to the letter.

I certainly am a fan of DVDFab but I would like to know the limitations otherwise I should stick to my IFOEdit method. Yes, I know everyone has their own way of doing things - each to his own.

  3. This doesn't help at all.

Once again. has anyone been able to do a full disc copy of "The Matrix" and/or "X-Men" without any problems using DVDFab 1.52? Or come to think of it, any complex DVD9 discs?

    Cheers.

  5. I just did the matrix with it after I read your post and it came out perfect, Im burning it now to -RWs. I have used the program with little or no errors now on about 7 movies...

  6. That's good news. Could you do me a favor and include a list of the contents of each VIDEO_TS directory, for both discs, of the backed up Matrix DVD. The reason I ask is so that I have an idea of what files are being placed there.

Also, I'm assuming you are doing a full DVD backup and not a movie only. What operating system are you using? Which movies have you done a full back up of? Did you have to do anything special for the Matrix back up?

Apologies for the 20 questions but I'm trying to work out why it's not working for me. I'm using win2k and DVDDecrypter to do a full rip of the DVD to my hard drive.

  7. edit: trying it now with all files.....ripping matrix to .iso is a no go.

ok it did crash on me on disc1 stopping with VTS_02_2.VOB when doing 'Copy Complete DVD'

If 'Copy main movie' and split to two dvds then it works just fine.

  8. My mistake Trust_No_1
I did movie only split and it came out fine. It did indeed crash on full disk copy/split right after the movie, when it started on the menus and extras...

X-Men has the same sort of navigational wackiness as The Matrix. It has an option to merge in the deleted scenes and jump around them and whatnot with onscreen displays during movie playback. Yikes!

I think any movie with this sort of navigation will fail with DVDFab.
