ok i use TMPGEnc 2.58 plus, and no matter what i do, sum vcd's cannot be cut properly, like they always are only like 8 minutes long

it happened on a trailer park boys and on a jackass episode, i cannot find a cure

Remember to post exactly what you were doing, and all the programs you were using. The gurus are knowledgeable, but not clairvoyant (except maybe Tgpo, but that is another story)

i am tryin to cut a vcd
using mpeg tools, its a standard vcd, mpeg1
30 min long, trailer pasrk boys episode. i am tryin to shave off a coupel seconds and add a diff intro
i did it for 6 others and worked fine, now this one always acts liek there only 400 seconds audio/video when the other are around 1500 and ends up 8 min long

Ahhh...well, you see it's like this: TMPG only cuts TMPG MPEG's. Sounds stupid, but it seems to only cut 100% complient VCD's. Guess what, 90% of the VCD's you download aren't 100% complient. This is why most people edit and frameserve out of VDUB, it's difficult to cut MPEG's correctly.

My guess is that particualr video isn't 100% complient. Or it's corrupted. You can re-encode it, or try an MPEG fixing program.

I agree. I can't for the life of me figure out HOW so many people can screw up making a VCD. It is SO easy. The other thing that annoys me are people who make a DivX or Xvid that you download ONLY to find out it was made from a rather poor mpeg-1 source ... meaning that file you just downloaded will look even worse after you convert it to back to mpeg-1 so you can actually watch it on something other than your computer.

I think it would ROCK if someone (of course this would involve HOLLYWOOD ... shudder the thought) would put together a website where you could download PROPERLY made VCD spec videos or high-quality DivX/Xvid videos of things not "normally" released on video ... such as that TV episode of your favorite show that you forgot to tape last week. I would pay a monthly subcription for such a service ... I might even be willing to pay per download if the price was right but such a service would probably work best with a month to month subscription price policy.

It will cut MPEG1 at any resolution.

You could do it the hard/free way with bbmpeg, it's your ******* choice.
