  1. I ripped 2 movies: X and Y.
So I have the following files:
    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO

    Movie X
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB

    Movie Y:
    VTS_02_0.BUP
    VTS_02_0.IFO
    VTS_02_1.VOB
    VTS_02_2.VOB
    VTS_02_3.VOB

Now, I would like to burn both movies on 1 DVD+R....

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Regards,
    Speedy.

If the movies were transcoded with DVD2one or DVD Shrink this will work. If not, it may still work.

Delete the VIDEO_TS.IFO & .BUP files. Run DVDtoolbox and set source to the movie folder and click 'Create video manager (VIDEO_TS.IFO)'. Ready to burn.

The DVDR will start with the first movie. To select the 2nd movie, use the remote to select title 2.

  4. This is how I do it however there are other ways I'm sure.

1: Rip both sides with SmartRipper to a single folder (all the files in one folder). Since the main movie on the second side may have VOB files with the same file names as the first side you will first need to put these into another temp folder then re-name them starting where the first side left off then move the files into the combined folder.
2: Delete all the files in the folder except the main VOB files for both sides.
3: Rename all the VOB files in order starting with VTS_01_001 then VTS_01_002 an so on.
4: Use VOBEdit to "Join" the files.
5: Use IFOEdit on the joined files to "create new IFO's".
6: Use IFOEdit to "get VTS sectors" on the files created above.
7: Use DVD2one or DVDshrink to compress the files in step 6 to a VIDEO_TS folder (you create this) so they will fit on a single DVDR.
8: Test the resulting files with PowerDVD or WinDVD prior to burning.
9: Burn The VIDEO_TS folder to DVD (I use RecordNow Max burning software for this).
    10: Enjoy.

SmartRipper, VOBEdit, and IFOEdit all all free so look in the tools section to get same. You can get some tips on using VOB and IFO edit here.

  5. Bob, Your method it will work with just 1 movie and you cannot select another movie title.

I have a similar problem. I have 2 separate movies and the size of both movies will fit into 1 DVD. I have not yet been able to find a way to create 1 DVD with 2 movies. I think I will give Megahurts's method a shot.

  6. You could use the Stream Processing mode in smart ripper which will rip each movie and demux the video from the sound, then re-author the dvd creating menus for each, then use DVD2one to compress to fit on one DVDR. You will need authoring software like SpruceUp that supports AC3 audio though.

Just make sure under smartripper settings you change "File Splitting" from every vob to max file size, then set max file size to 9000
