  1. Hi people

I have something to discos it with you people, it is about capture cards..

As you know we have 2 type of capture cards:

    1. The type with powerful chip so it do all the job by it self … and this type is expensive (+ $1750) example (canopus AMBER)
    2. The other type is which depend on your systems power, so the more power your machine is the more quality you get. Example (canopus MPEGPRO MVR) and (Vitec DCM)

So my question is which one I have to go with? And does the second type give the same quality, which the other type can give?

  3. I don't know the answer but most here are not going to buy a $1700 capture card. Myself I use a cheap AVer PCI capture card which seems to work just fine for me.

This statement is not exactly true. If your card can capture in DV format, then the quality will only be limited by the software you use and the settings you apply.

You can get excellant results with TMPGEnc at a cost of $49.

The more power you machine has will result in smaller encoding time.
Just what is this reality thing anyway?
