  1. hi,
this is really just dipping my toes in the water sort of question. i am using my dac-100 to capture my vhs, i can also use the dac-100 to capture direct from the tv also, the problem is i use studio 7 but i get a lot of dropped frames, screneanalyer is much better but captures as avi. studio 7 will not open avi so when it comes to editing i am stuck. i was looking at adobe premier but wow that is expensive, are there any cheaper versions. as i want to cut out the bad bits add transitions and chapters. which i can do with studio 7 but it is so crappy.

  4. Of course Pinnacle Studio 7 will open an avi file. Have you tried? How long have you had PS7. I use scLive with Studio and I can open avi's and mpeg's. I'm not sure your using it correctly.

  5. Hi Redd

it would be great if i could get studio 7 to open the avi. files. from scenanalyer it will save to a folder as avi. if i open studio 7 it gives me the option of studio files or to open ????(*.*) the latter will then show my avi file saved in the folder however when i try to open it i get an error message saying the file could not be opened. i have had s7 for about 2 years and for basic editing and stuff it is ok for a novice like me but i would prefer to capture with scenanalyer and then edit it in s7. any ideas

    thanks

  6. From edit in Studio. Where the avi files are listed as if captured in Studio, navigate to the folder where you have screneanalyer save your captured avi's to.

Have you been to the Pinnalce user forum? You can get lots of answers there.
