Hey all,
In a movie I recently ripped (Die Another Day), there seems to be a video commentaryl, which is part of the main VOB files. I used IFOEdit to make it into 2 DVD-R's, and then when I play the movie the video commentary keeps coming during the scenes. I tried turning it off from the menus, but it doesnt work. Is there a wayu to edit the VOB files and remove the commentary or any way to fix the problem? Thanks!

use ifoedit.
many many guides around with pictures and everything on how to strip streams. if you dont find them here go to ifoedit.com or doom9.org -
There are several prorams/ways to strip unwanted parts of DVDs. The three most popular choices being: IFOEdit, DVD toolbox, and DVD Shrink. All three are freeware and can be found either under Tools or at http://www.doom9.org. There are guides to the left on using IFOEdit under DVD Rip (backing up only the main movie).
IFOEdit - http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-menustripping.htm
This is a great little program for a lot of reasons. It's actually very easy to use/learn but it's not all that user friendly as the GUI is very basic (which I actually like)
DVD Toolbox can do the same job as IFOEdit but many people think it presents the info a more 'visual' way.
DVD Shrink is a little hit and miss. But it's the 'most newbie friendly' Basically you would choose 'FULL DISC' mode, then de-select everything you want to strip out. Everything you want to keep set to 'no compression'.

I'm not saying which is better, but if your new to all this DVD Shrink might be the easist way to go because of it's preview feature. But IFOEdit is not really that bad once you get the hang of it. -
I think you are misunderstanding me. I am asking how to remove a few frames from a vob file alone like deleting 10 second from VTS_05_1, not trying to delete a whole VOB file from a movie. The commentary is embedded in the main movie VOBs. Is there a way I can tell the disk to just skip over that part?

I had the same trouble with Die Another Day this past week. The stream he is talking about is not a comentary audio track, but rather alternate angles embeded into the film. I played around with IFOEdit for days trying to remove those angles, but had no luck. When I stripped the VOBs to remove certain angles it also removed that part of the main film as well. I just gave up and left them in. I used IC7 and kept the DTS audio track only and still got decent quality (enven when viewd on my 53" HDTV)!

i had that same problem yesterday with Roots I
i couldn't strip it for the world with ifo edit
i use dvd shrink 2.3 and on reathor mode i pick the first title one
(it was two title Ones) and preview it to make sure it wasn't there (it wasn't)
then i back it up
i've never seen that before. it had something to do with the multi angling on the dvd -
Hello. I don't know if your are trying to keep the menus or not, but i ripped it with smartripper and ran it through DVD2ONE and selected the DTS audio track and i did not notice any comintery in the final product.
Don't no if this helps on not. jest my 2 cent.

on my problem
i just ripped the movie files
and the movie vob had played fine with power dvd
but when i created the ifos and bup files
the commentary was jumping in and out on the movie
i suspect that what was happening to ryder1650
i don't know for sure though -
hey ryder1650
this is what i did to fix the problem
i use dvd shrink 2.3 and on reathor mode i pick the first title one
(it was two title Ones) and preview it to make sure it wasn't there (it wasn't)
then i back it up
it was a wierd experience for me as i had back up a lot (use your imagination) of dvds and never had that happen before
