    can anyone explain to me the best way to cut an mpeg2 file without loosing sound as i do when using tmpgenc
    is their another prog i can try

    i'm very new to this stuff, but after reading around i tried womble's mpeg2vcr and its excellent!!! you can cut anywhere, (not just i frames) and save with no recompression. the price now has dropped and it sells for $120. as far as losing sound goes, i've never experienced that so i can't tell you whether that will happen or not.
