i have some xvid tv episodes which id live to put on a dvd. Im trying to fit 2 series (15 episodes on a dvd). the xvids are at a 940 bitrate. Whats the best setting to use as far as bitrate goes in tmpgenc?
At the moment ive used vbr 2 pass with a 0 min bitrate , 1100 average and a 2000 max. Ive encoded all the files and they look ok although not great. Noticably worse than the xvid originals .Ive read that some dvd players have problems with low bitrates so im worried theat the finished dvd wont play on a dvd player. Ive not got a dvd player at the moment but am trying to make it as compatible as possible so that it has a good chance of working when i get one.
Does anyone have any suggestions for increasing/compatibilty the quality while still been able to fit them all on a blank dvd?
ive considered 800 min 1100 ave 2000 max
0 min 1100 ave and 8000 max
and 800 min 1100 ave and 8000 max
do you think these will improve quality/compatibility or can anyone suggest any other values?
Also is there anything better than 2 pass vbr?
btw
using 352 * 288 resolution(original 536*424),128 kps mp2 audio on the test files ive done, original audio is 128 mp3
thx in advance,
bri
