I also have the same query. When it was first released and I gave it a try,
i was very surprised by how compliant it is compared to the ulead products.
I felt sure that this forum would be ablaze with tips, tricks and mods for this software.
Some better menus and the ability to add sound would make this a great program.
It seems, however, that no one is really interested in this software.

tmpgenc dvd author i think is the best one around, to hell with ulead and there "no extension" specs, i mean, ulead will only give you dvd specs nothing else, with tmpgenc, you can extend those specs and even put a longer time frame on movies....ultimately, i have just purchased the new tmpgenc dvd author, that is the bomb, the give me motion menu's, it makes my thumbnails have motions, all it is with this software is knowing how too set it up, its really great.....whats better is it makes you the .vob and .ifo files you need so you can burn it as a dvd with nero in dvd-video mode.....try it..its great

  5. Yeah I'm having the same problem. It seems every program falls short in atleast one area. I need a program that can do multiple VTS sectors, allow me to create a unique menu, and the ability to add audio to menus. DVD lab works for everything but the VTS sectors and TMPEGenc works with everything except the menuing Does anyone know a program that can meet all my criterea?

In my case, TMPGenc Author is the best solution I can currently have.
Just try to add 105 small mpeg 2 files (352 x 288 from my old xsvcds !) with any other authoring program, set each file as a chapter, name it and export it to valid vobs in less than 2 hours and without a simply crash! Impossible, believe me!

But yes, you don't have yet much choices with the menus. But I believe that this shall change soon. Maybe a new program (TMPGenc menu designer) gonna appear in the close future.

I e-mailed Tempgen tech support regarding their limited menus. They replied that they are currently working on a menu editor--however, no inidication of when it may be released. Their latest release, however, is a step in the right direction. Although the menus are currently limited, at least the authoring program "works"--more than can be said for some others.
