I just backed up my copy of Star Trek Nemesis using DVD Decrypter and DVDShrink 2.3. I did not include the extras, only the movie.
I used Nero to burn the movie to a Verbatim DVD-R on my Pioneer A05 at 1x speed.
On my Pioneer DV333 the movie will freeze during chapter changes, so I must hit the FF button (next will not advance)....othern then that it plays fine....
On my Norcent DP300 there is no pausing, it plays fine except the audio captions are displayed on the bottom of the screen....
How do I cure both of these problems ....????

I also just played this DVD-R on my pc and it plays fine, so can I assume my Pioneer DV333 does not like Verbatim DVD-Rs....
Also the closed captions do not display on my Pioneer of my pc but are still displaying on my Norcent and YES I did turn off closed caption in my Norcents setup...

Well I have said it before I will not be buying Verbatim media anymore after I bought 15 and all of them had voids in the dye thus causing skips and freeze ups.

My theory so far is that there is something with "Movie Only" on DVD2One and Pioneer's standalones. I have made a Full Movie with DVD2One, burned in a Verbatim with no problems.
Try DVDShrink 2.3, IC7 (works great for me on my Pioneer standalone), or the new CloneDVD.

But I was using DVD Shrink 2.3 !
What is IC7 ?
Verbatim DVD-RWs play flawlessly on my Pioneer. It's just Verbatim DVD-Rs that my Pioneer does not like. My Norcent plays either one equally well... -

I had not noticed it on any DVD-R's until I purchased the buy 1 get 1 spindle free and AGAIN....now on the DVD-R's....TWO OF THE 15 in the first spindle had SENSE ERRORS! I've burned well over 100 SONY ACCU disks and NO PROBLEMS AT ALL...but now I purchase the MORE "EXPENSIVE" 100 YEAR WARRANTY VERBATIM disks and 2 out of 15...not a good ratio for such highly coveted media. My SONY ACCU's will blow Verbatim out of the water and when they land in pieces, they'll BLOW EM OUT OF THE WATER AGAIN!
I'll never purchase another Verbatim disk...and i'm so pissed right now, i'd be willing to sell the three non-opened spindles I have remaning..which I am going to end up doing....i'm really pissed...screw Verbatim.
