  1. Hello, switched to CCE 2.66 and now my DV captures converted to MPEG2 DVD are ugly!

I'm sure I've checked and rechecked the settings a few times but still am getting ugly blocks and shimmering whenever there is motion.

I've turn upper field off and on with same results...

Are there any CCE Templates I can use to solve this problem.

I've done a few searches and checked again but now I'm lost.

Any help would be much appreciated.

List the type of MPEG-2 your creating (Format: CVD/SVCD/DVD), (Type: CBR, VBR, CQ), what bitrate/Min/AVG/Max values if any. You should also list any settings that your using, under each of the buttons at the bottom (Video, Audio, Quality), and any settings on the main CCE screen.

Usually, the best way to start, is with everything disabled, except for the Bottom Field First setting for your DV video.

I am also getting ready to go from cce2.5 to cce 2.66. Are there any issues between these that I should be aware of.

troyvcd1, you really shouldn't hijack someone's thread like that

To answer your question though, while we wait for a response: No, there are no issues. 2.66 is leaps and bounds above 2.50. I use it myself.

The interface is different. It also has quite a few click filters added, most of which I never use. You should avoid them unless you know their function. The manual does a decent job of describing them (note: not good, just decent). Same suggestion for you. If in doubt, leave it disabled.

There is no magic setting that will give you good output for all video types. You have to be more specific in regards to your input type before you can get suggestions settings for good output.
