    I hope this doesn't count as a double post but I am including more info. so that I can be helped. I want to edit an xvid and vdub but I can't open the file.
    Vdub gave the following error when I tried to open an xvid:


    I then used gspot and received the following file information:



    I already installed ffdshow but it doesn't show up on my list of codecs in vdub. Any suggestions would be appreciated

  3. yep defo, isntal xvid codec

    also you might want to decompress the avi, so many probs start with tmpgenc unsorporting errors come done to the avi not being decompressed
