I heard through the grapevine that you are no longer allowed to burn more then 30min or so on a DVD-R. Is this true? I am trying to figure out how to make a home video with stills and video clips but want to burn longer then 30min. Any info out there?

You are probably talking about converting a dual layer disc to a single using demo software. Many of them only allow for about 30 minutes to be converted since you didn't pay for the software

No I heard that the companies who product the media will no longer be able to sale DVD-R's that can burn the length of a movie. Because of all the people copying DVD's. ... Sorry I should have clearified that a bit.

Yes, this is true, unless you obtain a Burn-for-More-than-30-Minutes license from me for the one-time price of $10US. PM me for instructions on how to get the money to me, and I will grant you your license.

Hurry, before the next price increase!

  6. worse than rumor, is BS.
The DVD burning market is FINALLY beginning to take off. I don't think they will slit their throats now!
Just what is this reality thing anyway?

  8. Data is data... it doesn't matter if it's a movie or a colossal amount of spreadsheets... your burner doesn't know the difference... 4.7G (sorry, 4.37G) is the limit. And I can't see "them" selling blank DVD' s -or+ that will not holm more than a CD.
2 DVD, or not 2 DVD, that is the question.
