Playing ps2 backups

I'm trying to play some ps2 backups I have using the flip top cover and swap discs. None of them seem to play, DVD or CD. I think that I'm burning them right, I use the Decryptor to make an ISO file the burn the image with Nero. MY ps2 was one of the first ones released and I have a DVD+RW drive, is it a compatiblity issue? I don't know if I'm making the backups incorrectly or if I need a new ps2. Any help would be greatly appreicated. Thanks in advance

it may be that your ps2 cannot read dvd+r discs.. a good way to find out is to put the disc in through the tray and try booting it like an original game.. if it gives you a disc read error then you know your ps2 cant read dvd+r/w discs.. if it gives you the red screen of death, atleast you know that it can read them because it knows you're trying to play a copy, which means you're doing something wrong..

you may also want to try higher quality media. (verbatim)

the method i use to backup my ps2 discs is to create a global image (.gi) through prassi primo dvd (aka recordnowmax) and then burn the image.. it has never failed me..

i have a v7 ps2, which will read dvd-r, dvd+r, & dvd-rw.. i'm not sure about dvd+rw as i have not tried it yet..

I have tryed to play burned DVD+R disc (DVDs) in my PS2 but they don't work...try different media..theres my two cents

What version ps2 do you have
does it have 8 or 10 screws on the bottom
there are 7 different us version and mainly 5-7 will play DVD+R's

Most of the time version 1-4 wont play +r's but there are some exceptions

All PS2's will play dvd-r's as long as the laser is in good shape and you use good media
