Virtual Dub will open VOB files, then you can frameserve to MPEG with TMPGEnc from there.

  3. DVDlab will accept VOB files as part of its input to the DVD authoring process, then you can add your menus etc.

If that is not suitable for you, you could try de-multiplexing the mpeg elementary streams using TmpGenc, Mpeg tools simple de-multiplex option. These should the be accepted by most Authoring programs.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Not that I would recommend them for general useage, but neoDVD (might require the plus version) imports VOB files. And Roxio DVD Creator 6 comes with DVD Builder which imports VOB files.

  5. I have Roxio DVD Creator 6 it will open .VOB files but it always gives me an error.

Wouldn't it be better if i converted the .VOB files to MPEG-2 instead of AVI? MPEG-2 will take up less space right and the movie would not have to be re-encoded after i edit it before i can burn it on a DVD.

  6. Demux your VOBs with VOBEdit, import your M2V and AC3, MPA, or WAV into whichever DVD authoring program you like and add your menu. By demuxing you are not losing any quality, simply just spliting apart your VOB.
