a friend of mine has a pioneer dv-250 and he can play pal s/vcd's in it and it will display the picture correctly.. so i'm guessing it converts the pal signal to an ntsc signal so it plays correctly..
i recently started using svcd2dvdmpg to "convert" svcd's to dvd's.. it worked on my apex 1100w & my sanyo dwm-370 correctly.. i just assumed that if the pioneer can convert a pal signal to ntsc for vcd's & svcd's it would do the same for a dvd.. no dice.. black & white rolling picture..
now maybe i'm getting this because when i play vcd's & svcd's in it recognizes the dimensions of the video and see's that it is pal so it knows to convert the signal.. and maybe beause i'm patching these pal svcd's to dvd it doesnt do the conversion?
i'm not really sure.. i guess i'm just going to have to get ahold of a pal dvd (centropy matrix reloaded dvdr with DD 5.1 surround sound) and giv'er a whirl.. but i was wondering if anyone else has tried this?
thanks for any help
