  1. After install and run the program. it says it can't find video codec. Any ideas would appreciate it.

    You've answered your own question. You need to install the proper codec to decode/encode whatever it is your trying to convert. I would sugest you install an MPEG-2 codec. You'll also need whatever codec is required by your source file (Like Divx, XVid, etc). Look in the TOOLS\Codecs section. You should also get GSpot from the TOOLS section. It will report whatever codec your AVI uses, and whether or not you have the necessary codec installed.

    The MPEG-2 codec is usually installed by the DVD Player software (like WinDVD, or PowerDVD). You cannot encode/decode MPEG-2 without this codec.
