I would like to make copys of my DVD-music collection (5.1 and DTS) without the picture, just the sound. I'm tired of have to make selections in meny's and intro's and shit, just want the musik. I want to keep the 5.1 (or DTS in some DVDs) but just skip the visuals.
IS THIS POSSIBLE???
If it is, how? and can ju make the burned DVD to autoplay without meny's and stuff, and if it fit's, can I burn it on a CD-R???
I would be very grateful for some help in this issue!!!
Thank!

I'm gonna post my method which differs a little and is no harder or easier than the above linked solution
I RIP THE ENTIRE DVD using DECRYPTER or SMART RIPPER
Movie Only cause that's where the concert is (RIGHT?)
Then I have a folder on my hard drive called VIDEO_TS with
the ifo corresponding to the title set i've ripped and the VOB's themselves
I download www.vidomi.comVIDOMI..
this does a great conversion to PCM audio directly from the AC3 in the movie.
Just select the IFO in VIDOMI then go to the audi settings and DONT convert directly to MP3..convert to PCM at 44,100KHZ with 16bit and 172kbps as a miniumum
Then convert the entire movie...
Extract the WAV PCM file (many programs do this- its instant- and I use PREMIERE)
then EDIT the 500mb-1gig WAV file down to songs in SOUND FORGE
(or you could output a song at a time from PREMIERE as a wav and convert to mp3 in a batch conversion..... -
Thanks for the input!!!
I've checked out the other tread (the link) but i can't figure out 1 thing...
when I have the AC3-file can i burn it directly so i keep the 5.1 sound, or how does it work... My gool is to collect several music-DVD into one, keep the surround sound (5.1 or DTS) but skip the video...

Un fortunately, UNLESS YOU add a BLACK or EMPTY Video souce to your AC3 file, it will not play in a settop DVD player.
SO YOU'RE BACK to the original problem..WHY NOT KEEP THE VIDEO and just turn off the MONITOR and pass your audio from the player to a 5.1 stereo set up/
I thought you wanted to make CD's of the sound..
because there's no cd player in existence that plays surround ac3
So use VIDOMI instead? and you'll get WAV in the first step and your 5.1 will be gone..but so will your headache of trying to play ac3 audio only on a cd player
If you want to get involved.. go to MINNETONKA for under a thousand, they can set you up tom make AUDIO DVD's with surround sound and no picture on dvd surface..but you need to make .AOB's for this..

Well my main reason is that in some cases the whole music-DVD dosn't fit on a DVD-R, I have two home cinema setups and I want to be able to listen to my music DVD's both of them...
I've made copys of some with DVDxCopy, but some don,t fit to 1 dvd-r and i don,t need the menys and visuals so i figure it was i way to do this....

Have you tried DVD shrink?
IT doesn't dog the audio at all..
so you can reduce the movie to nothing and always fit it on one disc and with one click you now have an "AUDIO ONLY" version that'll have surround
I could envisage using SHINK to make 2 concert movies' audio fit on one DVD
but this is complicated as you need IFO edit to make a new IFO's
to play more than one set of titles on one dvd -
I haven't tried DVD shrink, but it sounds very intressting!
DVD-R doesn't cost so much any more so it't ok to "only" burn one concert/DVD...
I gonna try shrink DVD after work today...
Thanks for the help dcsos!
