I just ripped my first dvd with smart ripper and then converted to svcd with tmpgenc and dvd2avi. My movie works great and ended up being 1.3 gb. But now I am having trouble getting it to split. I tried tmpgenc, ezsplitter, and many other programs to cut the video. I also followed the guide on this site in using tmpgenc. All programs freeze...

What works for others in cutting mpegs of this size?

Sorry if this is repeats any other forums!

    Thanks for the help,

I did try bbmpeg but it exits every after i set all the parameters and go to start.

I found that if I play the picture in the edit screen of tmpgenc then it allows me to to cut the movie without freezing. otherwise it always freezes. Thanks for the help!!

Splitting of mpeg2's is sometimes a problem. You can use the Source Range function in TMPGEnc to mark the start and end point of your clip and then batch encode to create 2 (or more) files, that way you can avoid having to split one big file.
