I have a vhs that i want to edit on my computer. I don't have a capture though on my computer. However, i have a digital camcorder that "can" record anything from a television to the camcorder. I tried it, but it didnt work. I read another place though, that it can do that. Does anyone know how? Can someone please help me?! Thanks alot

(BTW, I plan to use firewire to connect my PC to camcorder - i know that works)

    Thanks! [/u]

I have a Sony DCR-TRV320, and it uses digital8 tapes. I'm not sure what pass-through is

Well, did you try the procedure on page 59 of your owner's manual?

Yes, i tried it, and all i kept getting was a gray video for however long i captured it. I connected my s-video to the tv, and the firewire to computer. I started playback on tv, and capturing on my computer, like the manual said, but all i kept getting was a gray video.

Your manual does not mention using the S-Video port in the procedure on page 59. It says to use your audio in/out cable. Have you tried that?

Yes, I tried that also, but i still kept getting a gray video. I used the red, yellow, and white cable to connect tv to camcorder and then camcorder to PC. I captured, but it was only a gray video.
