help!!! cendyne dvd+r trouble

i am trying to find software for my cendyne 4x dvd+r drive that will let me burn a full 4.7 gigs of data onto one disk. so far i have tried nero version 5.5.10.28, recordmax v. 4.1, cdrwin 5.02, and nti platinum 6. all except the nti platinum recognized my burner, however i am only able to burn 4.4 gigs per disk??? i updating to the new nero 5.5.10.38 see if this "bug" has been fixed. thanks for any help i can get.

I believe the max for a DVDR disc is 4.38.

Nope there is a difference between bits and bytes. I forget the math but someone here will come along to inform us all.

companies consider 1000 bytes = 1k, but when you burn 1024 bytes = 1k. thats why when you burn its actually closer to 4.3gb instead of 4.7gb.

i've got 4 harddrives

2x80gb = 74.5gb
30gb = 28.6gb
20gb = 19gb

its kind of like when you buy a tv, they measure the size of it diagonally to make you think you're getting a larger tv..

yeah i was thinking the same thing. but then my friend was TOLD me he was able to do it. so i will ask him later when i see him online and confirm it with another source. thanks for the reply.

you'll find thats lots of people tell you lots of stuff. you just have to sort the shit for yourself.
