  1. i am trying to find software for my cendyne 4x dvd+r drive that will let me burn a full 4.7 gigs of data onto one disk. so far i have tried nero version 5.5.10.28, recordmax v. 4.1, cdrwin 5.02, and nti platinum 6. all except the nti platinum recognized my burner, however i am only able to burn 4.4 gigs per disk??? i updating to the new nero 5.5.10.38 see if this "bug" has been fixed. thanks for any help i can get.

    Nope there is a difference between bits and bytes. I forget the math but someone here will come along to inform us all.

  5. companies consider 1000 bytes = 1k, but when you burn 1024 bytes = 1k. thats why when you burn its actually closer to 4.3gb instead of 4.7gb.

    i've got 4 harddrives

    2x80gb = 74.5gb
    30gb = 28.6gb
    20gb = 19gb

    its kind of like when you buy a tv, they measure the size of it diagonally to make you think you're getting a larger tv..
