Is it possible to have sound playing during a menu when using TMPGEnc DVD Author?

Or which is a good authoring software for sound in menus?

Sorry, Craig, trying day, looks like I duplicated my question...

I tried a search and found out that either DVD Lab or DVD Workshop will do it, now I am off to find their demos.

I have only had my LG DVD Writer for 3 weeks, and am trying to find out which software will do what I want. BTW, the LG comes with B's DVD, I guess they give it away cause no one would pay for it. I personally found it to be junk.

DVDit! can have sound in menus. It makes up for not having motion video.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  6. Don't worry with DVDit. It is buggy as hell (crashes all the time so you are constantly saving just in case) and it is not as full featured as many options out there.

Ulead DVD Workshop, or even better in my opinion, DVD-lab. They can both do motion menus and music. DVD-lab also has other features that you can't find except in the most expensive apps.

DVDit was good for what it was, but the crashes and lack of motion menus and options killed it for me.

I would have to agree with you Jolard....

DVDit crashed here as well. I am experimenting with DVD-Lab, I cannot believe how good this program is and for only $100.00

This one gets three wrinkly old thumbs up from me.

    Thanks again for the tip.

  8. Remember that your DVD menu is really nothing more than a regular MPEG2 file (still or motion) with a subpicture for the menu. I don't use TMPGEnc's DVD Authoring program but I would suspect that it wouldn't be a problem?!

TMPGEnc, only allows BMP or JPG with menus.... not even and sound.
VERY simple program, down there with the bargain authoring software.

    I have found DVD-Lab, $600.00 features in a $100.00 package. I am pleasantly surprised.
