  2. You're going to want DVD2AVI, though it's a little known fact that you can also save an AVI in TMPGEnc if you so desire.

    Probably the best "all-in-one" solution would be GORDIAN KNOT
    This works great if your source is a DVD but I've never tried to convert a VCD to DivX

    You can download GORDIAN KNOT from the DOOM9 website ... they also have a guide on how to use it.
