I used dvd decrypter to rip 2 layer 1 dvd's. Then I used TMPGEnc DVD Author to create a new dvd (about 5.6 gb) with my own menu and only the things I wanted. Then I ran DVD2ONE and I got an error message about 36 percent through "Encrypted data detected, DVD2ONE can not decrypt protected data." I know it's not protected because I ripped it, and it will work if I don't reauthor it. Anybody have this problem and know a solution?

What ver of DVD Decrypter are you using cos its been reported that the latest 3.1.6 & prev 3.1.5 have left encrypted data in the ripped vobs in some dvd's.Which would account for the error your getting when running thru DVD2ONE.If you are running either of these latest versions then try Smartripper or an ealier version onf DVD Decrypter....

I have to sort of disagree here. I recently took a 'flipper', ripped the movie program streams from both sides using decryptor, combined and authored using Maestro, and made it all fit using DVD2one.

So I didn't use all of the *original* files, but did use all of the files from the re-authored product.

Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

I rarely use all the files from the dvd to do a film with dvd2one,i most often use ifo mode in dvd decrypter,as i often only want the main film ,and untick all the audio i don't want, then extract just the VIDEO_TS.IFO at the top, then open dvd2one and leave blank the audio selections i've already removed, works everytime,no problems,no point in filling your hard drive with an extra few gigabyte of files you don't want or require, even if it is only temporary.

My workaround was to use dvd2one first and shrink each one to 2.2 gb each then used TMPGEnc DVD Author to create Menu.
I also email tech support for dvd2one and got the following response:

    Scott wrote:

    > I created a dvd with TMPGEnc DVD Author (5.6 gb) and the files are not encrypted. When I try to shrink it to fit on a dvd it starts out fine then about 1/4 through it says files encrypted. Why?

Because TMPGEnc add padding blocks to the stream ... that's why.

    > It works fine when I use Dvd decrypter right off the dvd without reauthoring. But when I use the TMPGEnc DVD Author program to edit the decrypted files it doesn\'t work then. Any reason why?

I will make a workaround for this in the next version, for the moment ask the maker of TMPGEnc to remove those unnecessary padding blocks.

    Best regards,
