I don't know how to make txt file so I can copy from ifo edit so I will do my best to explain.
The original IFO file has 4 PGC's which all have there own vob ID. At the end of each of the PGC is VOB ID 5 which is called a layer break and is 15 frames.
This gets completely screwed up with the new IFO file created by Reauthorist.
Now when I do the ifoupdate I do use original IFO's and point to authored ones as specified in program.
In the doom9 guide for this there is an example exactly for what I have and it states to add a chapter 15 frames before end. I have no idea how to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and any more info required just let me know. If someone tells me how to copy the text from within Ifoedit I will do that to show what I have.
Thanks

Go to the track editor. Go to your first track and drag the slider all the way to the end of your track, and then just back it up slightly. You can use the 00:00:00 timer in the top for fine tuning. Then hit New->Scene to create a chapter there.
If you have alot of tracks you may find it easier to export a script file...file/export, and then use scenchap. Just load your scrip file and then load the ifo(s) into it and paste the chapter times into the track representing that PGC. Kinda hard to explain, if you get scenchap its pretty easy to figure out though. Then just import the script back into Scenarist, file/import, and all your chapters will be in place. -
adam,
Thanks for reply. I have scenchap but have no idea how to use?
How do I make the script file or has it already been made? Do I use original IFO file and what is the D2F file?
I appreciate your help so far.
ThanksAll I've got in this world is my balls and my word.....

If you are using Reauthorist you can use the script file (.scp) that it creates, or you can export one at any time from Scenarist. File/export script.
Drag and drop the script into scenchap. Then drag and drop the original ifo file onto the ifo tab, remember at this state there is only one ifo file. You shouldn't have compiled the DVD yet if you haven't added all your chapters.
Ignore the d2f tab for this.
When you drop the ifo tab you will notice it lists all the chapter times for all PGCs that need them. So go through each PGC that needs a chapter, in this particular case that is all of them, and hit copy from ifo. Since there are multiple PGCs with chapters, a little box will pop up asking you which PGC you are dealing with. Just select the appropriate PGC and hit ok. Move on to the next PGC and repeat the process. When your done hit create a new script.
Now back in Scenarist, hit file/import script. Load the new script you created and set a NEW project name and hit ok. Let it do its thing and all your chapters will be imported. -
Thanks adam.

adam,
No luck. No problems with scenchap but warning when importing and then an error when I go to layout editor and start process. It just tells me to check message window.

I don't know exactly how Reauthorist goes about creating its scripts. If you haven't already, try importing the ReAuthorist script into Scenarist and then exporting a new one and using that in Scenchap. Otherwise, just try manually adding those chapters at the end, while in the track menu. If all else fails, you may be ok with leaving those chapters out. What these do is make it so that if you are watching that extra, and you hit the next track button, it goes back to the menu that you just came from. Without that chapter there, you will have to use the title or root menu/dvd digest key to get out of that feature.
You may have better luck posting in the ReAuthorist thread on www.doom9.net, I know that aquabubble, the author, does a good job of helping people with their problems with the program. My guess is that he is aware of this little bug where the last chapters are lost, because as you have noticed the guides on the program mention work arounds. -
I have signed up for the doom9 forums but have to wait 5 days to post.
The problem is more than just stopping or freezing at end of episode. The first episode does not end properly. Then I start ep 2 at it continues from where it left off in the middle of a sceene. When I fast forward in ep.1 to near the end it jumps back to 35 mins. and is playing another ep.
It is really weird. I opened the IFO file that Scenarist made when I imported the scripts originally made and it is messed.
I have already deleted it but it was something like:
Title 1 vob1
Title 2 vob 2, 4
Title 3 vob 3, 4
Title 4 vob 4
How can 4 be an entire episode and be used for previous 2? Why is it not in first?
I know I am in wrong forum but with that 5 day rule my hands are tied.
Thanks for your help so far.All I've got in this world is my balls and my word.....

Episode DVDs require a little bit of special care. Maybe ReAuthorist doesn't officially support these yet, I don't know.
Are you sure vob-id #4 is an entire episode? Look at its playtime in ifoedit. Its very common to place a dummy track at the end of items and have that vob-id reused at the end of each PGC. So instead of having PGC 1, and 2, and 3 etc.. all time out to the previous menu...you just have them all time out to this dummy vob-id which always times out to the menu. Kinda hard to explain. This is extremely common for the extra features on a DVD though. Or maybe vob-id 4 contains some parts for the credits which only apply to the last 3 episodes. If that part of the credits are re-used, there is no reason to store it multiple times, so it is just referenced multiple times in the ifo.
PM the chapter information from the ifo of your movie and I might be able to provide some more information. I need to see the list of PGC's and what vob-ids are used. -
Thanks for for replys adam.
I am considering this one a write off and will just do it the old long way.
Something really got messed up and I am not sure it is because of the vob id which was used as layer break in all PGC's or because there were multiple PGC's within a VTS. I think it is because of the layer break. All I've got in this world is my balls and my word.....
and I don't break them for no one!
