I having an issue burning a Verbatim DVD+R DL disc using Roxio Toast Titanium 10. I am trying to burn a TS file that is 7.77 GB and each time I try using Titanium 10 an error message appears:

    Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST
    Sense Code = 0x26
    INVALID FIELD IN PARAMETER LIST

Has anyone else had trouble with this? I have used Sony DVD+R DL and same issue.
    I am using:
    Macbook 4.1
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    2.4 GHz
    Firmware Revision BP10
    Interconnect ATAPI

    PLEASE HELP!!!

Have you tried saving as a disc image first and then burning the disc image to DVD using the Image File setting in the Copy window?

At what point in the process does the error appear? What setting are you using in Toast (I'm presuming the DVD video setting in the Video window).

I have tried saving it under image but that did not work either. I have tried burning it x2 and same thing. I have tried resetting my macbook back to 10.5.2 because there was speculation about it not working with the new 10.5.6. I'm not sure it is the media

Has this drive ever successfully burned a DL disc before? There's always a chance that the drive itself is defective.

Tomlee59, I burned a single layer with no problems at all. What program did you use to burn the dual layer?

If it won't save as an image file then there's something wrong with the source file(s). Saving it as an image has nothing to so with any media (except, perhaps, your hard drive).

Okay; so it will save the image file. If you tell Toast that you want to burn an image file as the source then it will burn it in exactly the format in which you saved the Toast image file. If the disc you end up with is a data disc, then you didn't create your "Video DVD" disc properly from within Toast. I respectfully suggest you RTFM.

RTFM? When I saved it as an image it renamed it .toast. The original file came as a .img file torrent so I mounted it to get the TS files, both audio and video.

".toast" is correct. So you mounted the .img and you found...what? the VIDEO_TS folder? I will assume you did. So what you need to do then is tell Toast you are making a DVD-ROM (UDF) data disc. Drag the VIDEO_TS folder into the Toast window. Make sure the disc type hasn't changed unexpectedly. Burn. (You don't need the AUDIO_TS folder; nothing is in there and any modern player (mid-90's onward) won't expect to see it nor mind if it is there.)

Video DVDs are UDF format discs. If you attempt to burn them as anything else (from within Toast), you'll not get anything that will play in a DVD player (but might play fine in your Mac).

Now, if you take a video file and ask Toast to make you a Video DVD, it will do whatever transcoding and authoring are necessary and then...yep, you guessed it...burn you a UDF disc.

Let us know how it goes.

ok so one file worked using it as an image file (file size 5.95GB) but the other one (7.771 GB) would not, keep getting an error message. But when I mount them the 5.95GB reads as a file but the 7.71GB reads as cd read only. I dont know if this was because I noticed this during the burning of the 5.95GB.

Would you mind clarifying your entire post? "worked"? in what way? Mounted and played as if it was a DVD? Burned the image file to a DVD? Too many things are unclear. Please restate and be clear.

the 5.95 GB image file burned as a DVD but the 7.71GB image file would not burn as a DVD. Both of them do mount and play as a DVD but the 7.71GB image file would not burn as a DVD. I appreciate your patience and help!!!
