  1. Hi All.
Can anyone direct me to where I can download a plugin for TMPG that will let me convert mpg2?
I downloaded the Elecard mpeg2 decoder off this site, but that doesn't seem to work. I am a complete newbie so any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  2. It's in the tools section of this web page. Look under "mpeg2 and mpeg1 encoders."

I dont think it is susposed too. The purpose of the plugin is to allow you to create an MPEG2 file from other file types.

  7. Maybe I've got it wrong then. I was trying to use tmpg to make an .m2v and .wav from a .mp2 file. To correct what I think are interlace problems with the fields. Then use BeSweet to covert .wav to .ac3 then author with spruce-up. I'm have sync promblems with avi files, so was going to try using .mp2, see if that helped.
In Lordsmurf's guide on this site, he says he can do it, but he has Ligos mpeg2 decoder. Would this help and does anyone know where I could get it?
    Thanks-in-advance for any advice.

Don't think so. You need TMPGENC PLUS to MAKE an MPEG2 file. You need a codec to read them still. The Cyberlink MPEG2 codec that comes with PowerDVD is easiest to get. Not free, but they give out PowerDVD these days like it's toilet paper. Comes free with DVD-ROMs, other video programs, etc.

The free ones rarely work good, so find the Cyberlink one. The guide in my sig may also help you out some. You need to have your ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS properly setup in TMPGenc to open MPEG2.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  9. TMPGEnc will make mpeg 2 (SVCD) but if you want to load an mpeg 2, you need one of 3 mpeg 2 filters.

    Sony
    Ligos (Best)
    Cyberlink (PowerDVD 4)
