If you've read my posts from a month or two ago, you'll remember I had a problem with lines or areas of high-contrast in the video 'jumping' up and down by a field or so. I thought this was a problem with my old TV-Blunder VE, so I bought a shiny new AverTV Stereo tuner. I hook it up, and...Voila: the problem comes back, worse than ever (particularly in older programs; Get Smart and the older Simpsons episodes exhibit this problem worst of all), coupled with interference bands on the screen - the picture will go darker in bands at random intervals. Why is this problem occurring on not one, but TWO TV-tuner cards? Especially with one right out of the box! It's not my cable TV feed, because the same channels captured off-air exhibit the same problem.
If this is field-jumping, how can I compensate for it? Is there any way to, say, capture at 352x480, then reduce it to 352x240 by taking the odd field of one frame, then the evens of the next, then the odds, etc...?
