Does anyone have the Lite-on LTD165?
If so, is it a drive that can be flashed to region-free quite easily?
    Thanks,
    Will

Dunno about the 165, but I used the 163D firmware from here (which also has 165 listed) and it works a treat.

The glass is neither half-full, nor half-empty.
It is simply twice as big as it needs to be.

  4. Better still, go to this page...http://digi.rpc1.org/rpc.htm
and download a small program Rpcde2. Simply run it to make most Lite-on DVD roms region free. I have the 165 and it works fine.

Yep, works for me great too.
    At least I think so.
Trouble is, I can't get DVD Genie to work for me without getting that region change prompt.
    I use PowerDVD.
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Will
