    is it posible to download my movies from my hi8 sony camcorder to my pc i have svideo out on the camcorder and a svideo slot on my video card

    Yes. Remember, S-Video is video only, so when you do download (sic)(remember to use the term "capture" from now on), you also need to capture audio from your camera as well. Read the Newbie guides and then eeeassse on into the Capture section.
