    I have a Mustek 560 DVD and I have been really pleased with it but every now and then it makes a whirring noise and freezes for a second or two. It does it more with copied DVD-Rs but occasionally with commercial ones. It tends to do it towards the end of the film.
    Any solutions or is it knackered?

    if the disk freezes shutdown the dvd with the disk inside (not with remote)now you turn your player on. the disk now play without problems
