Marantz VC5200 and Region/Macrovision question

Hi,

I was told you all are very helpful and knowledgeable people , so here's my question or two that I couldn't find anywhere in the forums.

I have a Marantz VC5200 DVD changer. I thought I might need an all-region hack for a Region 0 DVD I was getting (turned out to not be necessary), and was pointed to this site. I found the following:

One question I've got is, with something like that 6-step hack, can it be un-done? I would assume it could be set back to R1 by entering '1' instead of '0' in step 5, but we all know what they say about assuming...

By the way, whoever programmed in that backdoor and the person that discovered it must have quite a sense of humor! Just happens to be the number of digits I long ago remembered Pi to.

My other question relates to the first one. I recently got a Barco projector that unfortunately is one of those models commonly affected by Macrovision, with periodic brightness fluctuations being the symptom. I've seen a number of the hardware Region mods claim to also disable Macrovision (none of them appear to be available for the VC5200, though). Is it possible the software hack linked above would also do so, or is that overly wishful thinking? If not, is there any other way to disable Macrovision on my model?

Disclaimer: I have no interest in illegally or otherwise copying copy-protected DVDs. Heck, I don't even have a VCR hooked up at the moment, and I do not have DVD recording capabilities... I'd just like my projector's timing to not be thrown off by some silly internal setting that does me no good when in use.
