I want to be able to convert/capture from a analog camcorder to my pc.. In both audio and video from the same card.. I recently brought a pinnacle PCTV - PRO which i was lead to believe had a audio input on it.. Which i later found to be untrue..

Any with experience in cards of around the same value or maybe slightly higher please give me a hand with what the best option for me would be..

    Regards
    Stroodle

Have you tried to use your computer Line In port to help capture sound with your PCTV-Pro card?

Yea but you then have to mix the audio together with the video and its a whole lotta trouble for a dim wit like myself *laughs*

Is there a method of muxing them together in a realtime capture?

You can check Recording Volume on your system to make sure Line in is highlighted. I do know some people even bypass their capture card altogether to avoid synch problemns. And remember to check your manual, it seems to me it should have a wiring diagram on how to configure your card.

YES YOUR PINNACLE PRODUCT CAPTURES AND ADDS THE AUDIO AT THE SAME TIME INTO ONE FILE ON THE HARD DRIVE
we don't call this MUXING unless we are capturing to MPG directly for AVI its just audio and video interleaved..
Once you set the pinnacle to capure audio along with the video (usually just checking CAPTURE AUDIO on the menu...( once you check it the first time now PINNACLE always does capture audio..no fuss no muss no level setting unless you have a loud tape :-)
