I know I can demux, re-render and re-author to remove the copyright vob from my backup but that's a lot of work. Is there a quicker way to do this?

Preview the vob in vobrator to find out which vob_ids contain the warnings, or whatever else you want to remove.

Load the ifo for that vob in IfoEdit and click Vob Extras/Strip Vob_Ids. Set a destination dir and hit OK. Check all items except the ones you want to remove and click strip it. It will strip the warnings and output a new vob in the destination dir. It will also create a new Video_TS vob and ifo. Replace your old files with these, load the Video_TS.ifo in IfoEdit and click Get VTS Sectors down at the bottom.

Now your done. All together it takes about 1 min to do.

Well this sounds interesting but could you give a bit more detail? How do I preview in Vobrator? I loaded video_ts.vob. Demux just creates a bunch of m2v's, an ac3, and .spes (whatever that is) files for the whole vob, not just the selected vob id.

okay, I guess you click the play button to preview. One thing: when clicking stop to stop the playback the vobrator program shuts down. This must be a bug....(happens on my xp system)

I run XP as well and Vobrator doesn't do that. Sorry, no idea what is going wrong there. Make sure you have the latest release, and if you already do, then maybe try an older one. Of course when running XP, whenever something doesn't work its a good idea to try running it in compatibility mode. Right click the executable and go to properties/compatibility mode and try running it in 2k mode.

I'm not a fan of Nero for DVD burning. I recommend using IMGTools .89 (don't use later versions) to make your files into a DVD disk image. From there you can burn using the very good and free program, DVD Decryptor.

  8. CopyToDVD is also good for burning, and free to test. I also lost loads of blanks through nero, but not one from this prog.
