  1. witch player should i use to play dat.files?

    i realy need to check that i`m downloading the right movie clip

    do i need any codecs?

    simple media player

    open the folder where your .dat file is then select view all files it should show up

  3. windows media player says unknown format. the dat.file have notepad icon on it.

  4. Not all DAT-files are VCD files (or lets say, most are not VCD files), so be sure you open the correct file, for example from the MPEGAV folder on a VCD. You could also try to play it with your software DVD player, how to open is different in different players. With PowerDVD you just press CTRL O and then select the drive with the VCD disk in it, or to open a DAT file, you select "Open mediafiles" (still after pressing CTRL O).
