As above, i have spent 3 days troubleshooting:
1 Captured a DV tape via firewire through Ulead 6.5 (4gb auto-cut)
2 Used Tmpeg 2.57 default VCD template to encode
The result was strange as part of the video seemed to be encoded in fast forward mode, it is very subtle but comparing with the captured AVI file will tell the difference.
The AVI file and encoded Mpeg1 file are both 16:34, however a noticeable dance scene which lasted 17 seconds on the AVI file only last 13 seconds on the mpeg1 file (i timed it with a stop watch). The 4 seconds was NOT lost , its just seemed fast forwarded.
Below are what i have done to troubleshoot:
1. tried different version of Tmpegenc
2. tried encoding in NTSC and PAL, also tried DVD template
3 tried encoding on another PC
4. tried changing the (top field/bottom field first thingy)
All the above method yields the same result, so i think its either problem with Ulead or Tmpegenc, or compatibility with both together. I hope someone can shed some light before i troubleshoot using another Mpeg encoder, i do not have the source DV tape anymore, only the captured AVI, hence i cannot try re-capturing another AVI file to test.
Thanks in advance for any help.
