  1. Hey I am trying to watch a avi file i downloaded but it is suppose to be like 48 mins but only plays for like one. and says that it might be corrupt. So is there a way or a tool to fix this?

  2. If its corrupt the only thing you can do is try to download it again.

  3. It says that it is corrupt or that windows media does not support it, but since it played a little I guess it would be corrupt huh?

  4. Have you tried moving past the point in the file where it stops? I have had that problem before and all I did is move past the problem part in WMP.

If that works! If you are desperate for this file you can always try cutting the problem part out of the file!

  5. Alright here is waht windows said I think it is the one about it was compressed cause it was only 25,000 kbs and it was suppose to be a 45 min movie

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. You may encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:

The file type is not supported by the Player. The following table lists the file types supported by the Player. If the file type you are trying to play is included in this table, then the file may have been encoded by using a codec that is not supported by Windows Media Player. If this is the case, Windows Media Player cannot play the file.
The file type is supported by the Player, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the Player.
The file type is supported, but you are trying to play it in a way that is not supported by the Player. For example, you may have attempted to drag a DVD file with a .vob extension from a DVD to the Windows Media Player icon. Or you may have attempted to open a .vob file by clicking Open on the File menu.
You are trying to play one part of a multipart file. Use a newsreader or other program to combine the files, and then try again

  6. Are you sure you've got the proper codecs installed? Use Gspot off the tools list to see if you do. It could be a bad codec as well.

  7. Try to install DivX to enjoy the avi file.

  8. Ok I ran it through Gspot, but I'm not sure how to use it I guess, its says under Video 2 compatible codecs are installed and under audio it says PCM no codec required. So I clicked render and it said it was succesful and that Direct SHow cliams to be able to play it. What does that mean? And it doen't work in Divx at all it says it is not one that compliues with it,.

  9. Ok I think I found DirectShow it was in my dvdplayer for the computer anyway everytime I click on the file I want it to play and say open with interactual player interactual pops up but then so does windows media and it tries to play through windows media and not interactual therefore leaving me back at problem uno!!! Anyone know anyhting about this?
