i wont start a flame war with this (like slayer appears to want). but im just simply saying that there are rules...one of which is on this page and is in purple, it says "NO REQUESTS." that is all, hope u have a nice day. and btw, i do agree with pacmania_2001 on the part that P2P programs are crap for movies.

The main thing I hate about ftp sites is that most of 'em are all busy or broken links. I like p2p file-sharing programs cuZ they're alot easier to find movies and it's fast.

Well... uhm... a friend of mine is using Morpheous and he has managed to get about 30 complete DivX movies, new and older, all of which are very high quality, he just has to find the right files as there are usually more than one options. He says this program automatically resumes download whenever you are back on line and it connects you to multiple users so download speed is really high.

Well, that's his opinnion anyway, remember that file exchange is illegal and that the Big Brother is watching as all...

Just reading these posts can anybody tell me how I access mIRC? I'm new to this and you guys are right I can only find poor quailty VHS rips on morpheous. DIVX is really hard to find. Any tips would be great thanx. Either here or e-mail: happymadison3000@aol.com

- download mirc (mirc.co.uk)
- chooose a server to connect (I use efnet)´
- click on the 4th icon from the left (list channels) and enter a word to search ( divx, avi - whatever you want)
- after the listing is over, enter one of the channels
- enable in options: auto-get file and resuming, and turn the ignoring off
- you'll see a lot of messages on the screen, and important is the 'trigger'. That's like a password. Just follow the instructions on the screen.
- type '/CTCP nick-of-the-person trigger'
- after the connection is established, type 'ls', to list all the movies. choose a movie and type 'get file-name'

That's it.

IRC is great thing, but only if you have a fast connection. Without fast connection, most of them will not let you download movies.

i personally dont like P2P (mostly b/c half the ppl on there dont have a clue about the DivX scene). anyways, if u like using them, go ahead. but one word: "topsites" these r THE places to get movies if u know what you are doing. but we must all start somewhere (irc,p2p,etc) so have fun. and to BIGTHREE2001, this site is dedicated to DVD BACKUPS, as in "i own it and want to keep a copy for myself" (interpret this anyway u will, but that is the INTENTION of this site, read the "ABOUT US" section to learn this.) and the rule "NO REQUESTS" is on the Msg Board, and this thread started off as a REQUEST for trading. thats all, hope baldrick finally shuts this post or something.

Hahaha.. I'm thinkin' about downloading mIRC and check out if there's really good quality DIVX there for sure. I'm tired of downloading crappy DIVX from Morpheus. I am also using HOTLINE and WS_FTP PRO, but could never get them to work. HOTLINE is always busy and most ftp sites using WS_FTP are dead.

Okay, I've tried mIRC... and it's NOT easy to use too, it's almost like HOTLINE CONNNECT. But mIRC is worse, I had to type in some commands just to find files. What a hassle!

I'll check out USENET now...
hope it's NOT like mIRC or HOTLINE or WS_FTP.

what a waste of time, if you expect us to beleive that you own all your movies and you rip them to back them up then i think you got another thing coming. who would blatently waste their time converting a dvd to one or two cds, wouldnt it be easier and better use of time to just handle the dvds with care as to not scratch them. vcd was a valid format once upon a time, now its just a format for people to TRADE movies. if you dont realize this condom then i think you should look around and open your eyes

i agree that 99.9% of the people that come here are ripping movies for illegal perposes... but that still doesnt mean that we should use this site to post things that might possibly get it shut down, eg. where to find illegal movies, requests... things like that.... the internet is filled with useful information. find movies on your own... if you dont know where to look then just rent dvds and rip your own.
