  1. I have SAMPO 620 DVD Player and I tried to add the scandata.dat file in my EXT folder on my xSVCD and I cannot FF or REW. When I click FF or RW, it brings me to the start of the video.

    Why?

Is there a foolproof way to do it?

    ANy help will be appreciated.
    Thank you,

Nothing in this world is foolproof

Normally the SCANDATA.DAT "trick" works. Are you sure you made it correctly? Are you sure that contents and title of the file are all in Capitals?

  3. The file is in lowercase...
would it be the cause of the problem?

I'll try again but this time with the file in capital letters...

    Thanks for the tip.

Some DVD Players aren't fussy at all. Others want the Standard set by Philips & Co...i.e. in this case in Capitals.

  5. Well, the capital letters didn't work either...
    Maybe I did something wrong?

Where can I read instructions on how to arange the FF and REW bug?

    Thanks...

I have sent you via email a working version of the SCANDATA.DAT. After dropping the mpeg file into your normal direcotry, click on the EXT directory and insert the SCANDATA.DAT.

Use the search instrument of this forum and do a search for "SCANDATA.DAT". You will find several info's about how to make it, even with the Goto/Search facility enabled.

I would suggest as your last hope using VCDImagerGUI to create an image file. Then in Nero select burn image and choose the *.cue file VCDImagerGUI has created - if this too doesn't work (which would be very strange indeed) go to http://www.area450.co.uk which has a forum and deals with Sampoo DVD Players and all it's erbadged models such as Afreey, Encore etc.

VCDImagerGUI is downloadable under "tools" from this website
