    I've never done this before.
I'm trying to make a backup copy of a 5.98Gig DVD that I bought yesterday.

I've ripped the DVD with DVD Decrypter. It worked great and put the data into a "VIDEO_TS" folder on my hard drive.

I'm trying to run InstantCopy to burn the files to a DVD-R.

But I don't know what setting to use or what to do.

This is what's in that folder:
    a VTS_01-Stream Information file,
    a VTS_01_0 file
    and 6 VOB files labeled VTS_01_ (1 thru 6)

What do I do to burn my DVD?
    Can someone please tell me?
(I keep getting messages saying, "Access violation at address..so and so", no matter which file I try to tell InstantCopy to take)
    "Signature"......
I use a Dazzle capturing system that Only lets me capture into Mpeg. So that is all I work with. I never do any DV/AVI video.....

  2. Here you go, my friend.. You can't burn just yet. You'll need to reduce the movie from 5.98G to 4.37G with IC. You'll end up with some .pdi files. You can then burn those files direct to DVD-R, using IC. Hope this helps.

Thank you SO much for that 1st link, Jbenj01.
(I'd looked, but hadn't found that one)

I definitely was not aware of those settings or where to find them until looking at that tutorial. It's just what I needed!
(when I get home I'll do those settings for compressing DVD-9 to DVD-5, and try again)

But in that 2nd link....It shows a "GUIDE" for DVD-9 to DVD-5 listed at the very top of the page, but I don't see where to access it. Am I missing something there?

Scroll down ... the guide is in that page below.

  5. rkr.. is correct.. just keep scrolling down or just print the entire page and it'll come out to several pages. the entire guide is encompassed in the pages.

note: 1 thing about IC is that it has a bug in it that does NOT calculate the correct end-file size of the movie; typically, you must oversize it manually. this guide shows you how along with another guide:

    good luck

My early tests show that the lates update MAY have remedied this. See this thread:
