my DVD copies won't play in some DVD players.
(does the burning software matters ? )
there are so many guides of DVD to DVD, and everyone recommend a different burning software.
why just don't burn with nero ? wich are the advantages of the other burning programs ?
Can a burning software improve my DVD-R compatibility in the standalone DVD players ?

I'm using 4.7 Pringo DVDs, and all they work fine in my PC and in my pioneer DV-343, but won't play in some other standalone DVD players.

Many standalone DVD players are capable of playing DVD-R,are you sure the players your having problems with are DVD-R compatible?
"Older" players which do not play VCD or MP3 are unlikely to play DVD-R. -
Exactly, that's my doubt , i'm testing my DVDs on a DVD players that of course are DVD-R compatible.
So that's why i'm confuse, i tought that maybe was the burning program or something.

In some dvd players works like 10% of time, after retry like 100 times.
works like 2 times after inserting and ejecting the CD like 100 times.
what is the problem ? -
The firmware on your recorder is more likely to make a difference than the burning program. Check to see if there are any updates available for your recorder, since most of these will add new media to its onboard catalogue and / or improve the write strategy.
Unless your burning program has a serious flaw in it and it does not burn compliant discs (like it spells VIDEO with an F or something), the burning application should not make a difference. That just sends data to the recorder - if it does not know how to handle the media or the recorder fluffs it for some reason, you may start getting problems.
I have always used Nero without problems. Some people slate it on these boards, but I'm sure a lot of it comes down to poor IFO editing quite frankly.
My Sony player is very picky with media - Ritek, TDK, e-Proformance and Datawrite Classics all work well in it, so from my perspective that makes for good media. Vivastar and the early purple Bulkpaq's all gave me hell on my Sony while they seemed to be a little more reliable on a couple of other players I had the chance to test them on at the time.
As usual, I would suggest trying other media, but check for firmware upgrades first - especially if you have a Pioneer drive, as some of the early models of even their most recent drives had an optics issue if you tried to burn high speed media without updating the firmware.

i already upgrade my firmware recently from 1.20 to 1.41 ( i have a pioneer dvr-104 )
i haven't try any dvd burned with this firmware yet.
i have burned terminator 2 like an hour ago, so i'll see how is it going. hope the firmware help . -
What's involved in getting a firmware upgrade? I have an older RCA player that won't play my burned DVD's, but it plays fine on my computer. I don't know if it is supposed to be compatible with my +Media, but if it needs a firmware upgrade, how do I go about doing that?
