  1. I have a 6GB mpeg2 file on my desktop containing a few films. I need to split the films up into their own individual files. I need to be able to split the mpeg2 file by minutes rather then file size (so the file contains only the start and finish of the film). I also need to keep the output file as mpeg2. Can anybody recommend a good program to do this?

BBMpeg. Incidentally, it is the only mpeg2 cutting program that I trust. Try the bbmpeg cutting guide in the EDIT section.

You can use the Merge and Cut feature in TMPGEnc. Go to File, MPEG Tools, then Merge and Cut.
