Does anyone know how to get rid of the letterbox so that the movie when played on a tv will not show up an as not to mess up the look

  2. Firstly, when you play the DVD on your TV, is the letterboxing there?

The letterboxing is to keep the movie in the correct aspect ratio. If it wasn't there, then everything will end up looking tall and skinny. The letterboxing SHOULD be kept.

The only way to remove the letterboxing without changing the aspect ratio is to also chop off the sides of a movie. This you can try, but remember that you may get situations then where the action is off the screen.
