  1. hi all.

i can make vcd/svcd's no problem. but sometimes when i play them on my dvd player the sound is perfectly in sync but then soon goes out of sync! if i rewind the vcd for a bit and start to play it again the sound is back in sync. I know its not a major problem but its pretty annoying! can anyone provide me with an answer please, is it some software problem, my dvd player???

ps. i use tmpgenc and virtualdub to create

pps the finished mpeg files i create to burn a vcd all have perfect sound all the way through...no rewind needed thank you...

  2. Extract the audio amd save it as a WAV.
Use the resulting WAV as your audio source in TMPGEnc for encoding.
    Sync should be ok.

  3. thats what i do. i use tmpgenc to do the video only then extract the audio separatly with virtualdub then use tmpgenc to multiplex them together. the sync is fine until i play in the dvd player and i have to do that rewind thing to stop the audio sync problem...as i say, the mpeg sync is fine when playing it on the computer...

I've seen this when your bitrate is too high. The player can't keep up and get's behind. Pausing puts it back in sync.

i used to have this problem too even when i extracted audio to wav in vdub. usually on files with ac3. then i started using odeo dekoda for my ac3 and no more problems. i don't extract the audio anymore. i just load the avi into tmpgenc it uses the audio and video from the avi as source with no problem.
